About the Author and Publisher

InfastGuide Publications Inc. is a one-man business founded in 1996 by Richard Desormeau. It specializes in the publishing of fastener source guides, copywriting, editing and Web consulting.

Richard has been in the fastener industry since he was a teenager. Almost every Friday after work his father used to bring home barrels of mixed fasteners from the plating company. Richard and his brothers would sort thousands of tiny pieces on Saturdays to earn extra pocket money.

After completing his college degree, working for a few companies and traveling abroad, Richard joined in 1984 Desormeau Industries Inc., a major Canadian fastener distributor and manufacturer, as a Purchasing Agent. He then developed a real passion for fasteners and the metallurgical industry.

He became Purchasing Manager, Research and Development Manager and, finally, General Manager of the company, a position he held for 5 years before the incorporation of InfastGuide Publications Inc. in February 1996.

In the last 10 years, InfastGuide has published 8 different fastener buyers’ guides and sold hundreds of copies worldwide.
